getReleaseThickness(avaDir, cfg, demFile)[source]

Define release thickness for the similarity solution test

Release area is defined as an elipse or main radius Lx and Ly. Release thickness has a parabolic shape from relTh in the center to 0 on the edges

Parameters

  • avaDir (str) – path to avalanche directory

  • cfg (dict) – confguration settings

  • demFile (str) – path to DEM file

Returns

relDict – dictionary with info on release thickness distribution
